School Survival Challenge Game - Cost $1000-$2,500 to serve your entire student body. Elementary, Middle, High school level programs. This Training is designed to teach and provide practice for wilderness survival. Presented as a one-day health and safety event, students are presented with a real-life scenario and are shown practical ways to overcome the challenges of being stranded or lost in the Alaskan wilderness through a fun, fast-paced survivor game. The Wilderness Safety Challenge can be used as a great party game (1 to 2 hours) or a serious certificate program (1 to 3 days.) The objective of this program is to raise awareness and prepare all ages to recreate and travel safer in Alaska.
CPR/AED - American Heart Association or American Safety and Health Institute – Cost $55 per person. (Valid for 2 years.) This is 4-hour course and is nationally certified through AHA or ASHI (NAOI offers both.) Group discount rates available. Basic Wilderness First Aid– Cost $125 per person. This is an 8-10 hour course for those who are involved in wilderness recreation.This course may also meet the needs of volunteers and professionals who lead groups on short trips in relatively low-risk situations. Wilderness First Aid - Cost $225 per person. This is a nationally certified 3-day wilderness medical training program, geared for those who recreate frequently in the backcountry or spend time camping with their family. Two year certification through SOLO and includes American Heart Saver CPR/AED certification.
Wilderness First Aid Afloat - Cost $225 per person. This is a nationally certified 3-day wilderness medical training program, geared for those who work in the marine environment. Two year certification through SOLO and includes American Heart Saver CPR/AED certification.

Wilderness First Responder Recertification - Cost $225 per person. This course recertifies WFR certs. from WMA, WMI, SOLO, and Remote Medical. SOLO’s certification is valid for three years. There are two ways to recertify; either through a WFA course, or a traditional WFR refresher program. Price varies, depending on location of course. CPR option provided.

Wilderness First Responder - Cost $625 - $700 per person (Price varies, depending on location of course.) This is an intensive 72-80 hour certification course nationally certified through SOLO which focuses on evaluation, treatment and rescue for backcountry medical situations. This is a three-year certification and includes AHA Healthcare Provider CPR.
Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (WEMT) - This is another SOLO certification program, recently offered in Alaska as a summer semester through University of Alaska’s Matsu Campus. This 180 hour course meets the requirements to sit for the National Registry EMT exam, State EMT-B exam, and Wilderness EMT exam. Child and Babysitting Safety training. - Cost $200 per person. This is a two-day (16) hour national certified course for anyone that is in a position to provide care for infants and children. This is a two-year certification through the American Safety and Health Institute. CPR option provided.
Be Snow Smart I - Cost $25 per person – 90 minute presentation. Great for those new to Alaska or looking for a great refresher. Be Snow Smart II - Cost $75 per person. This four-hour course takes participants beyond awareness to the ‘what next stage.’ This course includes a two-hour workshop covering more on weather forecasting, terrain management tips and snowpack analysis, plus two-hour in-the-field practice.Click here for schedule and registration
Be Snow Smart III - Cost $150 per person. This one-day (8 hour course) combines indoor program time with more extensive hands-on outdoor experience. Training emphasis is on planning and preparation, weather forecasting, snow stability evaluation, hazard assessment, terrain management and rescue in the backcountry focusing on critical thinking and in-the-field decision making process including group member dynamics. Avalanche Level I - Cost $395 per person. Includes course materials, field notebooks, and the use of BCA avalanche rescue equipment. This three-day (24-hour) course is an AAA/AIARE recognized course and combines indoor lecture time with hands-on outdoor experience. Topics include: planning and preparation, relevant weather phenomena, terrain assessment, understanding snowpack, route finding, basic test procedures and interpretation, decision making, group management, avalanche transceiver use and basic rescue.
Avalanche Level II - Cost $495 per person. Includes course materials, field notebooks, and the use of BCA avalanche rescue equipment. This four-day (24-hour course) is a AAA/AIARE recognized certificate course and combines indoor lecture time with hands-on outdoor experience. This course builds on the training provided in Level I.
Community Awareness / Introduction to riding - Cost $45 per person – 60 to 90 minute presentation. Summer Safety Series - These courses range from 2-8 hours and include training on basic backcountry travel, navigation/orienteering, Alaska plants and animals, ATV/bicycle and water safety. Community Safety Fairs – NAOI supports the National Emergency Preparedness Safety effort to help prepare our friends and neighbors in the event of a natural disaster or emergency. We help to host between 2 and 4 fairs per year based on community support. These fairs are Free to the public. <
CERT – Citizen Emergency Response Team – (18-20 hours.) $Price TBD. This was formerly a federally funded training program that helps to prepare leaders in our community to step forward and aid in times of natural disaster or emergencies. The funding for this program was cut and NAOI has agreed to take on CERT to see if the community will cover the true cost of the program. -
