Teen Survival Challenge Game – Cost $25 per person. For youth 12-19 years old. This Training program is designed to test and teach survivor skills. Presented with a real-life challenge, youth are taught skills needed to overcome the challenges of being lost in the wilderness through a fun, fast-paced survivor game. TSC101
Emergency Preparedness Safety Fairs – FREE. Designed for families with lots of hands-on skills training and great information to help families get ready for emergencies and disasters. CT101
Basic Wilderness First Aid – Cost $125 per person. This is an American Safety and Health Institute indepth 8-10 hour course for those who are involved in wilderness recreation. This course may also meet the needs of volunteers and professionals who lead groups on short trips in relatively low-risk situations. ASHI Certified Course.BWFA101
Wilderness First Response Refresher / Wilderness First Aid – Cost $250 per person. This is a 2 to 3-day (20 hour) WFR recertification or WFA survival training program. Certified through SOLO this intensive program also includes an America Heart Saver First Aid/CPR certification. FR201/WFR-R2
Wilderness First Response– Cost $650.00 per person. These are 80-hour certification courses through SOLO or OEC. This course is designed for the professional that leads groups in the wilderness on extended adventures and for those that are working toward their wilderness EMT rating.WFR601
Child and Babysitting Safety training.– Cost $45 per person. Are you interested in providing the best childcare service possible? This full day training will provide you with skills that range from starting your business to safe, fun activities for the children in your care. Includes introduction to first-aid/CPR. Be Snow Smart – $10 per person – 90 minute presentation. Great for those new to Alaska or looking for a great refresher. Introduction to safe winter mountain travel providing practical skills for everyone. BSS1
Be Snow Smart 2 – Cost $45 per person. This four-hour course takes participants beyond awareness to the ‘what next stage.’ It includes a two-hour workshop covering more on weather forecasting, terrain management tips and snowpack analysis, plus two-hour in-the-field practice.BSS2
Be Snow Smart III - Cost - $100.00 per person. This one-day (8 hour course) combines indoor program time with more extensive hands-on outdoor experience. Training emphasis is on planning and preparation, weather forecasting, snow stability evaluation, hazard assessment, terrain management and rescue in the backcountry focusing on critical thinking and in-the-field decision making process including group member dynamics. Winter Snowmobile Safe Travel - Cost $150.00 per person. This is a one-day intensive training program focused on snowmobile travel and operation. Includes mechanical overview and operation, river and lake travel, avalanche awareness and in-the-field operations. BSNS-S101
Avalanche Certification Level I - Cost $295.00 per person. Includes course materials, field notebooks, and the use of Ortovox avalanche rescue equipment. This two-day (16-hour course) is an AAA/AIARE recognized certification course and combines indoor lecture time with hands-on outdoor experience. Topics include: Planning and preparation, relevant weather phenomena, terrain assessment, understanding snowpack, route finding, basic test procedures and interpretation, decision making, group management, avalanche transceiver use and basic rescue. Summer Safety Series – Cost - $25 per class. These are 2-4 hour classes that include training on basic backcountry travel, navigation/orienteering, Alaska plants and animals, ATV/bicycle and water safety. All courses are interactive and include an outdoor field activity. SSS101
