The North America Outdoor Institute seeks interested individuals for the position of Board of Director. This volunteer position requires individuals that share the mission and vision of NAOI – To provide high-quality, professional outdoor safety education programs for the general public in an effort to reduce unintentional injuries and deaths from outdoor recreation related incidents. This position requires:
First, let me start off by saying that I am deeply honored to be given the opportunity to lead the North America Outdoor Institute. I want to assure everyone that while there are changes happening within NAOI, the mission will not change. We will continue to "save lives from unintentional injuries related to outdoor recreation and travel through interactive safety and environmental awareness, education programs for the general public, and those seeking careers in the outdoor industry and search and rescue fields."
My vision for the future is simple: To continue building on the partnerships that have been made, foster new partnerships with businesses and communities, continue to build NAOI as a premier outdoor training agency within Alaska, and finally to grow NAOI to expand its borders beyond Alaska.
With that being said, our roots will remain grounded in Alaska. Whether we were born and raised here or we were fortunate enough to have moved here, Alaska is where all of us at NAOI call home. We will still offer the same great programs we always have, and we will continually update what we offer based on the wants and needs of the communities of Alaska.
Finally, I look forward to working with you and I am excited to be part of the next phase of growth for NAOI.
Things are changing at NAOI. We are excited to announce the addition of Andy Romano who will be training as Chief Executive Officer with Debra McGhan, Executive Director. Debra will be transitioning to mentor, train and support Andy and the rest of the staff as NAOI continues to grow and expand our services.
We are excited about the future and want to assure all of our supporters and members that the mission and passion behind NAOI is not changing. We will continue to provide quality outdoor safety education programs in an effort to save lives from unintentional injuries and deaths. We hope you will continue to join us for training and educational opportunities
